Cub Scout 500 – Pinewood Derby

Join Cub Scouts and Scouters from across the Muskingum Valley Council for the
Cub Scout 500 Pinewood Derby Race! 

March 29th, 2026

• Doors open at 12:00 PM
• Registration is from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
• Open Race Registration Closes at 2:00 PM

First Racing Heat Starts at 2:00 PM

The First Heat is ALL Cub Scouts. Cubs will race against each other for the chance to compete in the Cub Scout 500 Championship. Even if your Cub doesn’t advance to the Championship, their day is not over, as they will get to compete in the coveted Cub Scout 500 Turtle Championship. 

Second Racing Heat Starts at 2:30 PM

The Second Heat will be divided out into 3 groups.

On the First Track, The Cub Scout 500 Championship will take place.

On the Second Track, the Cub Scout 500 Turtle Championship will take place.

On the Third Track, the Cub Scout 500 Open Race will take place.

The Open Race Costs $10

The Open Race will give Scouts BSA Youth, Adults and Community Members a chance that they normally don’t get. They can relive their Cub Scout glory days or start a new tradition. Racers can bring their own Pinewood Derby Cars, or they can craft their cars on race day.
